Can't Connect to eduroam from my Apple Device (iOS)

Problem

"I can't connect to eduroam on my iPhone or iPad after trying to sign in with my Cal Poly email address and password."

Solution

“Forget” the eduroam wifi on your device and remove any profiles that may have been previously installed for campus wifi connectivity. Then install the current campus Wifi configuration profile before attempting to connect to eduroam. Please complete steps listed below, in order of importance/priority.

Step 1: Forget eduroam Wifi

  1. Go to  Settings > WiFi.

  2. Tap the “i” icon next to eduroam and then Forget This Network. If you do not see the option to forget, move on to the next step.
Repeat this step for SecureMustangWireless, Cal Poly Guest, and WiFi Setup, if applicable.

Step 2: Remove profile(s)

  1. Open Settings > General.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and open “VPN & Device Management” or “Profiles” (depending on your iOS version). If you do not see a “VPN & Device Management” or “Profiles” section, skip to the next step.

  3. In the Profiles section, select the profile and tap Delete Profile. Then tap Delete. If there's more than one profile, repeat this step for each one.

Step 3: Download and install Cal Poly mobile wifi profile

  1. Tap this   link.
You may need to tap Allow on your device to complete the download.

  2. Tap Close and Done.

  3. Open Settings > General.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and open “VPN & Device Management” or “Profiles” (depending on your iOS version).

  5. Under Downloaded, tap Wi-Fi - eduroam - 2022-2023 (CP) > Install > enter the device passcode > Install.

  6. Enter your full Cal Poly email address (including the @calpoly.edu), tap Next.

  7. Enter the Cal Poly password, tap Next, then tap Done.

  8. Go to  Settings > WiFi. Your device should now be connected to eduroam with a check mark displayed next to it.

  • If you have a device passcode, you will be prompted to enter it during this process.

  • If after following the instructions above you're still unable to connect, restart your device.

  • This is considered advanced troubleshooting. If you do not feel comfortable following these steps, bring your device to the Service Desk Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
