Not Receiving Messages When Forwarding Is Set to My Personal Email Address
Problem
“I am not receiving email messages that are supposed to be forwarded to my personal email account address.”
This issue may include problems with:
class distribution lists
campus & departmental notifications
delayed delivery
Possible Issues and Solutions
You may not be included as a member of the email distribution list.
Solution: Verify your membership status on the email or class list by visiting lists.calpoly.edu/sympa. If you are not a member, contact your instructor or the list owner to be added.
Email forwarding to a third-party address is enabled in your Cal Poly Portal Email Delivery Address (EDA) settings, which may cause messages to be flagged as junk/spam or be delayed by the receiving email provider.
Solution:Check the junk or spam folders of your destination email account for the missing emails.
If the emails are not in the junk or spam folders, try disabling EDA forwarding. Follow these instructions to disable EDA forwarding: Remove My Email Delivery Address (EDA)
After disabling forwarding, access your Outlook account to retrieve all emails using these instructions: Access Email and Calendar Settings
(Optional) After disabling forwarding, setup Outlook to forward email. This forwarding method is more compatible. Follow the Outlook-specific instructions here: Forward My Cal Poly Email to a Different Email
