Class List Naming Convention

The format of a class list name is aaaa-cnnn-ss-yyyq. Mail sent to the class list name is addressed listname@calpoly.edu.

Characters	Description
aaaa	The course abbreviation with all trailing spaces removed
c	Code for special sections ('e', 'x' or 's'). This is optional and may or may not appear.
nnn	The three-digit course number
ss	The two digit course section number
yyy	The year the course is offered in The first digit is for the century portion of the year The next two digits are for the year
q	The quarter within the year: Winter = 2, Spring = 4, Summer = 6, Fall = 8

Examples

Section 01 of a CSC 110 class taught Fall of 2022 would be: csc-110-01-2228@calpoly.edu.
Section 02 of an ME 120 class taught Winter of 2023 would be: me-120-02-2232@calpoly.edu
