VPN Issues with T-Mobile Home Internet IPv6

Problem

I connected to the Cal Poly VPN using my T-Mobile Home Internet, but now I can’t access any Cal Poly websites or resources while other websites either load slowly or won’t connect at all.

Solution

Adjust Network Settings on PC…

Steps for Windows Devices

  1. Log in to the PC with an account that has Admin Privileges on the device.

  2. Open Settings, then choose Network & Internet/Advance Network Settings.

  3. Choose Advanced Network Settings.

  4. Choose PANGP Virtual Ethernet Adapter Secure and Edit More adapter options.

  5. Click on Configure in the Adapter Properties box.

  6. Click on the Advanced Tab, then MTU and change the value to 1300.

  7. Close out all windows, then Restart the computer.

  8. Connect to the VPN again.
Connection should succeed and all websites and resources should be available.

NOTE: Users have reported degraded performance when connecting to the VPN with these new settings. This is a temporary workaround until PAN can provide a permanent solution.
