Securely Using Zoom
There are some security risks when conducting online classes and meetings. Unfortunately, zoom-bombing, the name given to gate-crashing Zoom meetings, has become more prevalent with a rise in trolling and the sharing of graphic content by uninvited guests looking to disrupt meetings. Zoom has the Waiting Room feature turned on by default for Education accounts.
Visit the Zoom Trust Center for a complete guide to Zoom compliance, privacy, safety, and security.
If you experience a zoom-bombing incident, report the incident directly to Cal Poly’s Information Security team at security@calpoly.edu. A forensics analysis will be conducted and shared with Zoom.
