Purpose
Ensure continuity of instruction and eliminate disruptions.
Comply with software licensing.
Ensure supportability and maintainability of the service.
Maintain version and file compatibility throughout the academic year.
Scope
Physical Computer Labs
Virtual Computer Labs
Cal Poly-owned devices that support learning and research
Software Revision Availability & Deployment
The latest software revision (as of July 31) will be available at the start of the fall quarter.
Upgrades take place during the summer quarter.
Virtual Computer Lab updates occur between quarters, during the academic break
Software upgrades will be considered for
security concerns,
broken features/bugs,
or significant and relevant feature updates.
If a software update is approved, the update will occur during the next quarter break.
To request an upgrade, please submit a General Help request.
