To complete IoT Device Registration, you will need to know your device's WiFi hardware/MAC address. Typically, the Mac address can be found in a device's network settings or in the documentation that came with the device.
The eduroam WiFi network does not work with IoT devices.

Step 1 - REGISTER

To complete IoT Device Registration, you will need to know:

To access the registration link you need to be connected to campus wifi or VPN.

Note
Using the web browser that is native to your computer operating system (Safari or Edge) to access the registration link is most effective. Chrome users have reported problems accessing the registration page.

Check to see if your device is on the supported devices list.
NOTE: To access the registration link below you need to be connected to campus wifi or VPN.
Go to IoT Device Registration

and log

and log in with your Cal Poly

username (do not include @calpoly

email address (username@calpoly.edu)
and password. Click the Log In button.

Click Create Device or the Create a New Device button.

Step 2 - CONNECT

After you successfully register your device, connect it to the CP-IoT-Secure network.

Go to your device's WiFi settings and

select

select CP-IoT-Secure.
Enter the password given to you during the IoT Device Registration process to connect. (This password is different from your Cal Poly password.) If you forgot your password, see View Devices and Passwords below.

Normally, your your device will not be able to be " seen " by anyone else, just you. You can choose to share your device with other Cal Poly users so that they can use the connect to your device, either during during the IoT Device Registration process or by logging in and managing your devices . If you've already registered your device, see (see View Devices and Passwords below).

Once sharing is enabled for another user, they will be able to see the device. If they can see the device in their Airplay menu, for example, it means they can use it in the same way as you. If they cannot see the device, then they have not been granted access by you..

Go to IoT Device Registration

Click Manage Devices, then click on the device you'd like to view and an Edit link will appear.
Click Edit to see specific information about a device, including its current password (for Wi-Fi devices), the device type, and who the device is shared with.

If you inadvertently register a wired device as wireless or vice versa, you can change the device type here.
The Wi-Fi password will automatically be generated if necessary.
If you make any changes, click the Update Device button.
