Staff and faculty can use it to securely send or receive documents.  Examples of documents that can be transferred include:

  • Enrollment Verifications
  • Transcript copies
  • Applications and related documents
  • Anything with Level 1 data


 Set up
  1. You must enroll your device(s) with Multi-Factor Authentication (Duo) before setting up MOVEit. You will need to add a primary and secondary device. For more information about Duo, visit the Authenticate with Duo page.
  2. To login into MOVEit, go to transfer.data.calstate.edu.
  3. Click on San Luis Obispo, then click the LOGIN button or click the Login Using SSO button.





  4. Enter your Cal Poly username and password, then click the Login button.
  5. Authenticate with Duo.
  6. MOVEit will automatically open.

 Requesting and receiving files
  1. From the main dashboard or PACKAGES page, click the Request Files button.
  2. Enter the appropriate information in the fields provided. 



  3. Enter the email address and click the Check Recipients button to ensure you are sending the message to an existing user in the system. This only works when a recipient has logged into MOVEit at least once.  If the user has not logged in you'll see the following message: 



  4. Under Options, you can check the box to receive Delivery Receipt(s).
  5. Click the Send button.
  6. Once the message is sent, it will appear in the Packages > My Mailboxes > Sent folder. When you see two green spheres, then the package has been picked up.



  7. When the "package" is sent to you, you will receive an email in your Office 365 Inbox titled New Package Is Waiting. You will also receive a new message in your MOVEit Inbox under New Packages. Click the Login Using SSO button to log in and view the package.
