Problem

"I lost my phone. What do I do? How do I authenticate?"

You will need to authenticate with your backup device, and then remove the lost mobile device from your Duo account.

  1. Log in to the My Cal Poly Portal.

  2. Click the Personal Info tab Info tab >Under Personal InfoAuthorized Devices > Multi-factor Authentication > Click Edit.

  3. Authenticate with your backup device (a secondary mobile device like device like a tablet, landline landline, or token or token). 
    Next to the device name, click the Device Options button. Delete the device by clicking the red Trash button, then the red Remove button.
    More detailed instructions can be found on the Manage a Duo Device pageOnce you finish authenticating, you will see the Device Management page, with your current devices listed.

  4. Click Edit (pencil icon) for the device you wish to remove, and then click Delete.

  5. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Click the Delete… button in the prompt to confirm.

If you do not have a backup device, contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance. After the Service Desk deletes the device, you will be able to add a new device. Remember, your password will still protect your account.
