Lost Phone with Duo App

Problem

"I lost my phone. What do I do? How do I authenticate?"

Solution

You will need to authenticate with your backup device, then remove the lost mobile device from your Duo account.

  1. Log in to the My Cal Poly Portal.

  2. Click the Personal Info tab >Under Personal InfoAuthorized Devices > Multi-factor Authentication > Click Edit.

  3. Authenticate with your backup device (a secondary mobile device like a tablet, landline, or token). 

  4. Next to the device name, click the Device Options button. Delete the device by clicking the red Trash button, then the red Remove button.
    More detailed instructions can be found on the Manage a Duo Device page.

 

If you do not have a backup device, contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance. After the Service Desk deletes the device, you will be able to add a new device. Remember, your password will still protect your account.
