Starting 8/11/22, the Chancellor's Office (CO) will require campus use of Global Protect VPN to access the following legacy a specific VPN portal address (coappsvpn.calstate.edu) to access data collection and reporting applications: applications. Staff using the affected applications may follow the steps below to install/configure and reconnect their VPN client.

Applications affected:

  • Academic Planning Database (APDB) 

  • Enrollment Reporting System (ERS) 

  • Cash Management Operations (CMO) 

  • Employee Salary Projection System (ESP) 

  • Financial Information Record Management System (FIRMS) 

  • Grievance and Arbitration (GRARB) 

  • Academic Calendar Database (ACAL) 

  • Space and Facilities Planning Database (SFDB) 

Previously, campus users have connected to these applications from campus network IP ranges without the added safeguard now being required to protect the sensitive data they store. On average (depending on campus and department size) there are 11 users per campus at any given time.

Click on the Global Protect icon in your notification bar

Using the menu (three stacked lines), choose Settings.

In the General tab, click the + button to add a new VPN portal address.

Enter coappsvpn.calstate.edu in the Portal Address: field, and click Save

The new VPN portal address should now be reflected in the list.

The Global Protect client should now have an extra portal address (coappsvpn.calstate.edu)
to select for your connection.

Once the configuration is complete, you are ready to re-connect to VPN:

In order to connect to the Chancellor's Office Global Protect portal, it may be necessary to first disconnect from the Cal Poly Global Protect VPN portal (if connected).

  1. Disconnect from the Cal Poly Global Protect VPN portal (if connected)

  2. Using the Portal selection list, choose the option for coappsvpn.calstate.edu

  3. Click
