Authenticate using Call Me with an office landline (or mobile phone) number. If you'd like to add a landline as a secondary device, see Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (Duo) under Step 2.

This option is suitable for office phones and landlines, or mobile phones that can't run Duo Mobile.

Use Phone Call:

  1. Log in to the My Cal Poly portal or a Cal Poly application that is MFA/Duo-enabled.

  2. When you are prompted to authenticate, select Phone Call option with the phone number you want to receive that call at. .
    You might have to click on Other options first to see the screen with the Touch ID Phone Call option.

  3. A call will be initiated to your device. Answer the phone call and press 1 on your phone from Duo and follow the voice instructions to log in If you receive the call to your on-campus office phone, you'll need to press 9, then 1.

    You have authenticated and your identity has been verified. Confirm or deny if you own the device you are trying to log in to.

Use Text Message Passcode:

  1. Log in to the My Cal Poly portal or a Cal Poly application that is MFA/Duo-enabled.

  2. When you are prompted to authenticate, select Text message passcode.
    You might have to click on Other options first to see the screen with the Text message passcode option.

  3. Type the passcode, then click Verify.
