Faculty and instructors can download printable course info from the My Cal Poly Portal > Academics tab. This includes information about Enrolled Students, Enrolled & Wait Listed Students, Student Photos, etc. Sometimes specific browsers, like Chrome and Edge, have trouble downloading PDFs from this portlet.

Problem

"When I select File Format: PDF then click the download button from the Printable Course Info screen, the PDF doesn't download."

"When I try downloading the download.resource.uP file from the download bar I get a 'Download Failed Network Error' or a similar message."

Solution

To fix this issue, try one or more of the following solutions.

 Resume the download.

From the download bar where you saw the error message, click Resume to continue the download.

 Use Save as PDF.

Click on the print icon or go to File > Print, then select Save as PDF.

Change your browser PDF download settings.

Changing browser download settings will affect PDFs on any site. Instead of the PDF opening in the browser viewer, it will automatically download.

Chrome

  1. From the top right of the browser window, click the three vertical dots > Settings.

  2. From the left menu, click Privacy and Security, then Privacy and security Site Settings > Additional content settings > PDF documents > Default behavior > select the radio button beside Download PDFs.

Edge

  1. From the top right of the browser window, click the three horizontal dots > Settings.

  2. From the left menu, click Cookies and Site Permissions > PDF documents > enable the Always download PDF files setting.
