Browser Bugs

Oracle BI 12c supports the latest versions of all major browsers (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari). If you experience any browser-related issues while using PolyData Dashboards, please update your browser to the latest version or try using a different browser. Mozilla Firefox is recommended for use with PolyData Dashboards as it will circumvent many of the glitches reported while using other browsers.

Copy/Paste from Dashboard Analysis

In Oracle BI 10g, it was possible to copy and paste directly from columns within the dashboard view. Unfortunately, due to enhancements made in other features of Oracle BI 12c, the user is limited to copying a single cell or a single column of data from the dashboard view. However, pressing "Print" Click Print at the bottom of the dashboard and selecting "select Printable PDF" will to open a PDF copy that can be directly copied and pasted from. Printable The printable PDF option allows for copying single or multiple rows of data at a time.

Pivot Table Column Sort Bug

Some of OBIEE 12c dashboard views are constructed as pivot tables. OBIEE dashboard engine can dynamically sort pivot tables starting with the outermost left column only. Sorting on any other column will not produce the desired effect. Sorting arrows appear above other columns, but these arrows will be ignored by the dashboard (they are ignored in pivot tables only). One way around this is to drag the column you are interested in sorting to the outermost left position.

For example, the following table can only be sorted by the Preferred Report Name column.

To sort the table by the Jobcode column, grab the column by the top sliver and drag it all the way to the left.

General Troubleshooting

If you can't get your dashboard to work, try the following steps.

  1. Refresh the page, filter the data again, and click Apply.

  2. Go to a different dashboard. Return to the non-functioning dashboard, filter the data again, and click Apply.

  3. From the top right corner of the browser window, click Sign Out, then log out of your Cal Poly account. Sign back into PolyData Dashboards. Sometimes data is not refreshed correctly if you have been logged out of the system.
