There are two ways to forward a Cal Poly email to a preferred or personal email.

  • While it is possible to access your Cal Poly email using a third-party email service, there is no guarantee of delivery of your Cal Poly email to your off-campus account. The recommendation is to log in to your Cal Poly Office 365 Outlook account to access Cal Poly email.

  • Applicants/New Students: Your Cal Poly account is set to forward email to the email address you used to apply. Verify the email delivery address associated with your account by going to the My Cal Poly Portal > Personal Info > My Info > Email Address.

  • Not seeing your Cal Poly emails? Check your Spam folder or create a rule or filter to ensure Cal Poly emails make it into your preferred inbox. 
    If you're using Gmail, visit Create rules to filter your emails to learn how to restrict Cal Poly emails from hitting your Spam folder by entering @calpoly.edu in the From field and selecting Never send it to Spam.

IMPORTANT: When an EDA is removed and If you choose to setup an EDA. Please keep in mind that if/when you remove the EDA and Cal Poly email is reverted to Microsoft 365/Outlook delivery, any emails that were sent to the your EDA will not populate, or “resend” to the Outlook inbox.

  1. Log in to the My Cal Poly Portal > My Apps Email & Calendar.

  2. Click the gear icon, then type "Forwarding" in the search field and select Forwarding.

  3. Check Enable forwarding toggle button.

  4. Enter an email address.

  5. Check the option to Keep a copy of forwarded messages.
    A copy of the email will also be saved in your Cal Poly Office 365 Outlook account.

  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the window.
