A MAC address is a hardware identification number that uniquely identifies each device on a network. MAC addresses are formatted with colons (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). Knowing  Knowing a device's MAC address helps to connect to the CP-IoT WiFi network and troubleshoot wireless issues. Typically, the Mac address can be found in a device's network settings or in the documentation that came with the device.

macOS

Hold down the Option key and from the menu bar click the Wi-Fi icon. Find your MAC address under Address.

Windows

Settings > Network and Internet > Ethernet or Wi-Fi (depending on your connection), click the connection, then scroll down to view (Hardware) Properties > Physical address (MAC).

Chromebook

Open Chrome and enter chrome://system in the address bar. Go to iconfig and click the Expand button. wlan0 > next to ether find your MAC address.

Linux

Open a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-T) > Type ifconfig -a and hit Enter > next to HWaddr or Ethernet find your MAC address.

iOS (iPhone, iPad, iTouch)

Settings > General > About > scroll down to Wi-Fi Address.

Android

Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > More options > Advanced > MAC address.

Settings > About Device/About tablet > Status > Wi-Fi MAC address.

Settings > Wireless & networks/Network & Internet > Wi-Fi >  Wi-Fi MAC address.
