Passphrase/Password Change Re-Sync on a Cal Poly-Owned Windows PC

When you change your Cal Poly passphrase/password on your Cal Poly-Owned Windows PC, the passphrase/password doesn't automatically update to match your Cal Poly Portal passphrase/password on Windows. Here you’ll learn how to get it re-synced.

To get your new Cal Poly password synced to your device, ensure the following:

  • You are connected to Ethernet (wired internet) on campus.

  • Restart the device.

  • Try logging into your device with your latest Cal Poly credentials.

Your passphrase/password may not update immediately. If you are unable to sync your new Cal Poly passphrase/password and your computer passphrase/password, wait an hour and try again.
