Enabling Apple Intelligence on Your Cal Poly Device

Update your OS to iOS 18.1+, iPadOS 18.1+, macOS Sequoia 15.1+, or visionOS 2.4+.
Ensure your device is compatible:

iPhone: 15 Pro/Pro Max, 16/16 Plus/Pro/Pro Max
iPad: Devices with M1 chips or newer
Mac: M1-based systems or later

All language settings (device & Siri) must align and be supported.
Navigate to Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri and toggle it on.

Check and consent to additional services like ChatGPT if desired.

Privacy, Security & Limitations

Privacy-first design: Core processing occurs on-device with Private Cloud Compute.

Transparency: Additional logs are accessible to users and open to independent auditing.

Local-first: Most tasks run without internet; cloud is used only for complex tasks.

Limitations: Some Siri generative features are still under development.
