University Housing Tech Support
Technical services are available to students living in University Housing. Wired and wireless internet connections are available in all residence hall rooms.
For IT help in campus residence halls, submit a University Housing Tech Support request. For immediate help in person or by phone, contact the ITS Service Desk.

WiFi
Wired Wall Ports
Most rooms in University Housing have one wired ethernet port either on the wall or through an Aruba Access Point. Wall ports are typically labeled W and are active and available for use. Aruba Access Points have up to 4 ports available, are labeled E1, E2 or E3, and it is recommended to first use the middle ports. Wall ports and Aruba Access Points may be hidden behind furniture. To connect for the first time, you must log in to a University Housing ethernet port.
Outside networking hardware is not allowed on Cal Poly networks per the Cal Poly Responsible Use Policy. Custom firewall pinholes are also not permitted. Learn more on the Residential Technology FAQ page.

SpectrumU TV/Entertainment Info
University Housing is excited to announce the launch of our new TV and entertainment service, SpectrumU. SpectrumU is a streaming service provided to all residents while living on-campus, with On-Demand content available off-campus. These services are provided at no additional cost.
Residents have access to 150+ channels, including premium stations such as HBO and sports networks. SpectrumU is available in community lounges and on your personal devices. Please review the information here to get connected and start streaming today!
SpectrumU lets you watch live TV anytime, anywhere on campus using your phone, tablet, laptop, desktop and most streaming media players.
Stream in Community Centers and Lounges
SpectrumU is preloaded and available on media TVs located in most community centers and lounges throughout our residential communities. Look for the Roku remote or media controller next to the TVs to get started.
Stream on Apps
Just search for SpectrumU in Apple App Store, Amazon, and Google Play app stores. For Roku search for Spectrum TV in the Roku Channel Store.
When prompted enter our school domain http://calpoly.edu and enter your Cal Poly credentials to get started.

Enter our school domain, http://calpoly.edu , as shown, and click Submit
